Needin' some NOLA love

Things have been very rough of late and life in this parallel universe of N'awlins has been challenging. But I am alive and more importantly Mardi Gras kicks off fully this evening with Krewe du Vieux rolling in the French Quarter and Marigny. I didn't get a chance to go last year but this year I'll be there yelling my lungs out for a golden bagel and looking out for the clever satirical costumes adorning the multifarious bloggers of this community that are participating.

My camera is loaded and I'm prepared to drink rum punch to warm my cockles on this chilly night!!! So come on now NOLA, cough up some lovin' for this Scottish girl you've been battering of late!!

Pics to follow ....

Fine, then come hang out uptown this weekend. We'll buy you a drink...or just make one for you!

Hello cursed tea, and thanks for your blog. I grew up in Nawlins, went to school and attended St Dominic... I moved away in 2000, before 9/11 and Katrina...and your wonderful pictures of St D's popped up in a google search.

Thanks for your attention to detail, your kind words, and letting me see my home through your eyes. I haven't been back since Katrina, and I think about the streets, the food and the people every day.

I lived my last 6 years close to where you are currently, I think. Rue / Semolina's / Garden District were my running grounds.

Best wishes for your Carnival recovery, and keep reminding the internets why She is the best damn place in the world. If you're still in the dumps... I promise jazz Fest will bring you closer to heaven.

Yours,
Boo in Colorado

Yoo Hoo! (knocks on screen door frame). Anybody home? Hope things are OK and you're just too busy to fool with the blog.
